Speaker: Joel Young

Sermon Notes

"The Cultural Gospel"
Foundation Text:  Acts 17: 16-34 (Paul’s visit to Athens)
Main Idea:  The church cannot become so separated from the culture that communicating the gospel in a culturally relative way is impossible.

The Gospel is for everyone! (vs. 16-17)

The Gospel must be conveyed in a relevant way.  (vs. 23-28)

Practical ways to be relevant:
   1) Make the message easy to understand.
   2) Know and understand who you are reaching.
   3) Alter the methods, but never the message.

There will be mixed reactions to the Gospel message. (vs. 32-34)
