Help for Haiti Earthquake

Sunday, 10 January 2010

On January 12th, a 7.3 earthquake struck Haiti, specifically 5 miles west of Port au Prince, which is very near Lifeline's Grand Goave headquarters where the Harvest Pointe Christian Church Mission team will be heading on March 18th.  The earthquake damaged damaged buildings, what little infrastructure they had and injured or killed hundreds if not thousands of people.

Harvest Pointe Christian Church is teaming up once again with Lifeline Christian Mission to help the people of Haiti in a very direct way.  The people and the mission are in desperate need of basic items.  We will begin collecting items immediately and will deliver them to Haiti as soon as the shipping ports open.

Here is a list of items we are asking for:
Peanut Butter
Powdered Baby Formula
Canned Meats
Rice and Beans
Pharmacy Supplies
Bedding
Shoes
Children's Clothing

You can also provide monitary donations by going to Lifeline Christian Mission's website

Chili Cook-off and Superbowl 2010 Party

Print E-mail
Friday, 08 January 2010
Its time again for our annual Super Bowl Party and Chili Cookoff.  We may even see the men in stripes (The Cincinnati Bengals) playing in this year's final game. Super Bowl Sunday is February 7th with kickoff at approximately 6:28 PM. We will have everyone bring a 2 liter and families with last names A through L bring side dishes and everyone M through Z bring deserts. The festivities will begin with the chili cookoff at 6:00p.m. and fellowship and football the remainder of the evening until the final whistle blows. This is always a great opportunity for fellowship and getting to know one another a little better but it may also be a great opportunity to perhaps show off your special family recipe all while watching the BIG GAME. We'll see you there.
